Does anyone know How to get from Sofia - Istanbul? Apparently there is a night train, but the official planner app seems to think that Istanbul has no trains going to it from Europe, due to be open some time in 2015. And that's about as much as I can seem to find out anywhere!

There is also a post made on this forum saying that there is a night train and then a bus from Cerkezköy, and you buy tickets in sofia but is this still valid since that was made summer 2014? Also the official planner app dosn't register a sleeper service to Cerkezköy, just a load of international and regional trains which I would like to avoid.

I just want to get some real information on what is running and such. :/

Hi!

Yup - the direct night trains from Sofia and Bucharest to Istanbul are currently replaced by bus services on the whole of the line in Turkey.
If there are any updates these will be posted here in the forum as well as on the blog. :)

Thank you! :)
