Greetings

Im michele a 22 years old Italian student. Im traveling to norway next week with some friends and our plan is to spend some days in Oslo and then visit Stavenger, the idea was take one night train to go Stavenger oslo and one to come back. I would like to know if the trains are actually night train where you can sleep or just normal train that run during the night.
Moreover do you think it would be possible to visit the famous fjords of stavengher in this period of the year?

Thanks everyone and cheers!

Michele

Hi!

Do you also want to go to Bergen or to Stavanger only? I'm slightly confused by the title. ;)

Night trains in Norway convey regular 2nd class seats (which are the same type as used on daytime intercity services) and 2-bed sleepers which are very comfortable.
You can see some pictures here: https://rail.cc/en/oslo/train/c

It should be no problem to see the fjords but I am not sure if you can hike to Preikestolen - you'll definitely need good winter equipment; the best thing to do would be to ask locally.
You can share your experiences here afterwards. :)
