ALEX (ALX)

The alex trains operate on two main routes: the southern route from Munich to Oberstdorf in the Bavarian Alps and to Lindau on Lake Constance; the northern route from Munich via Regensburg to Hof in Upper Franconia and to Plzen and Prague in Czechia.

Trains mainly consist of modernised compartment coaches. On the route to Hof you will also find modern double-deck coaches.
- 2nd and 1st class accomodation on all trains
- air-condition
- power-sockets
- facilities for the disabled and bicycle storage on most trains
- drinks and snacks available on most trains

On the route from Munich to Prague trains are operated in cooperation with Czech Railways CD. These trains consist of both coaches of alex and CD.

Seat reservation is not compulsory but recommend especially during summer season on the route from Munich to Prague (especially in 1st class!).
