G\'day,
4 friends and I are interrailing this summer through "eastern" europe. This is our route:
http://interrailplanner.com/plan/11503/calendar
Btw, it says rotterdam on the map because we\'re gonna stay at a mates place in rotterdam but are gonna catch the train to Amsterdam.
So what are your thoughts about the route? We are interested mainly in Nightlife but ofc we\'d also like to explore the different cities. Any suggestions in the different cities what we absolutely need to see/do for both sightseeing and nightlife? All of us are 18+.
Oh yeah and we thought about going to the sziget festival while we are in budapest

Hi Leo and friends,

there are no particular problems regarding the route - everything is straightforward and you dont have to fuss around with reservations etc.
Amsterdam - Berlin: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/amsterdam-berlin/[/ux]
Berlin - Prague: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/berlin-prague-train/[/ux]
Prague - Vienna: Two hourly direct Railjet services; just hop on the train and you\'re ok.
Vienna - Budapest: Again, two hourly direct Railjet trains; just hop on the train. There are also some additional EC trains running in between the Railjet trains so you have hourly connections in the morning and afternoon.
Budapest - Ljubljana: There is only one direct train each day which I recommend to take, no reservation required. Alternatively you can travel with the night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/budapest-koper-g1246-1605/278
Ljubljana - Salzburg: Several direct trains or connections with change of trains in Villach
Salzburg - Munich: Hourly fast trains, just hop on any train.

What pass are you gonna buy? Probably the 10 travel days in one month? Support our work and buy your ticket through our partner link to interrail.eu: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you! :)

Some suggestions:
Amsterdam: tourist hot spots are of course the area around Damrak/Dam/Oude Kerk/Nieuwmarkt with lots of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, the red light district.
Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are well worth the visit; as is nearby Vondelpark to hang out.
Prague: in summer you can go to the Vltava city beach. Of course you should get some proper Czech beer and food; the best thing to do is to avoid touristy restaurants on the main streets and close to the main sights. I can recommend U Sudu Pub on Vodickova off Vaclavske namesty.
Vienna: many pubs and clubs can be found in the "Stadtbahnbögen" on the Gürtel along metro line U6: B72, Chelsea,...a good spot to hang out is on the Donaukanal as well, with many open-air pubs and restaurants. Flex, Grelle Forelle,...also have a look at "Bermuda Dreieck (Triangle)" in the city centre between Schwedenplatz, Seitenstettengasse and Rudolfplatz. Also the area around Naschmarkt is quite interesting.
Budapest: many pubs, clubs, restaurants in and around Kiraly utca; visit the ruin pubs (all hostels will tell you about them), for instance Szimpla or the rooftop bar at Corvintetö (Corvin Club Terrace). Also the thermal spas are great fun (Szechenyi, Gellert,...)
Salzburg: Segabar are possibly the cheapest clubs in town; I recommend to get some Belgian beers at L\'Alchimiste Belge (ok might not be too interesting for you if you are from Luxembourg); my favourite brewery is Augustiner Bräu in Mülln.
Munich: havent been there much so I can only recommend to go to one of the large Breweries (Hofbräuhaus being the most known of course)
