So this summer, I'll be going on my first inter rail and I'm sooooooo excited! This is my thoughts on the places I'd like to go to and I'm hoping I can fit this in within a month....

Paris --> Berlin --> Prague --> Budapest --> Split --> Slovenia --> Rome --> (via ferry) Barcelona --> Faro --> Lisbon --> Paris --> HOME

I'm starting on the 30th August and will be going back to the UK via the Eurostar on the 27th September. I was wondering if this route is viable, the time I'll need to spend on the train between each destination and whether or not the 10 day flexi pass for 1 month is the right pass to purchase.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hi!

The 10 day pass will be enough for your trip however depending on the trains you take you wont have any spare days left so might need to plan carefully and also buy an extra ticket for the local train from Rome to Civitavecchia for the ferry.

From Paris to Berlin you migh have to buy an expensive (13€) reservation for the direct ICE or TGV from Paris to Frankfurt; from there you can use domestic ICE services to Berlin without a reservation.

Berlin - Prague: https://rail.cc/blog/berlin-prague-train/
Prague - Budapest: Two hourly EC trains without reservation needed
Budapest - Split: To use one travel day only, you would have to go early in the morning to Budapest, then change to another train to Split. For the train to Split a reservation is required so as a backup think of the night train - in that case two travel days would be needed.

Barcelona - Faro: Best option would be to go to Sevilla then take the bus to Faro (not included in Interrail).

Thank you! :)

So my route has changed slightly to

Paris --> Berlin --> Salzburg --> Zagreb --> Split --> Lake Bled --> Rome --> Barcelona --> Faro (through Seville) --> Lisbon --> Home

I was wondering which of these would require reservations, how/where to make the reservations and which ones you'd suggest a night train on?

Also there's so many stations the trains stop at, how do I know which one they stop at and which stop to get on etc? If that makes sense

Thanks for your help + suggestion!
