Hello,
I purchased a ¨Global pass for this summer and today I spoked with a worker from Scotland rails and she said that the Global pass does not include Scotland and GB at all....?
Is this true?
Because, on the interrail website is written that the Globall pass include also GB.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome.

This information is wrong! Interrail is valid in Great Britain / Scotland. Interrail is even a really good choice, as you avoid the expensive point to point tickets and you do not need reservations, except for the Caledonian night train service to Scotland.
It is often the case that you get wrong information as Interrail is not well known to several employees of railway companies. therefore the best is to ask here. :)

And if you like the free content and help you get, support our work and buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link to no extra fees for you: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] . Thank you! :)

Hi Pete,

Thank you for your fast reply!
You saved my day ;)

You mentioned the Caledonian night train service to Scotland, is this train included in the pass and I have to pay only the reservation or is not included in the pass?

Thank you! :)

Hi Rok.
Good to hear! :)

Caledonian Sleeper is INCLUDED in Interrail. Seats are FREE - but you have to reserve them, best by phone call. Sleeper cars are currently about Euro 100. Expensive.
Read here for details: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/united-kingdom/uk
And the blog I\'ve mentioned above.

Hi Rok, welcome to railcc!

I think there might have been some confusion about Interrail and Eurail - the Interrail pass is valid in UK while the Eurail pass (for residents outside of Europe) is not. That\'s probably the source of the information of Scotrail - staff not exactly knowing the difference between Eurail and Interrail. ;)

Thanks Pete!
I will consider this train for the last transfer from Scotland to the London\'s airport.

Yes Flo, maybe also I wrote something wrong and confused them :) Or maybe ther realy dont know the difference ;)
I was realy shaking for about an hour while waiting for some answers hahaha :)

So, Ireland and Scotland.........I am coming! ;)

By the way, does the ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan need to be reserved if you are a foot traveler?

Thanks!

Hi Rok.
I\'m not sure if you need to reserve in advance. I would say you are fine just getting the ticket directly at the port, as there are frequent connections available. Also Stena Line says: to get your discount, you can do it directly at their office at the port. Therefore... in my eyes... no reservation required in advance.
Stena Line gives a 30% discount - should be then something about GBP 18.
See information here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-ferry/belfast-cairnryan/92

In Cairnryan take the bus to Stranraer railway station from where you can continue to Ayr, Kilmarnock und Glasgow Central.

Hi Rok.
No, this bus is not included in Interrail. But as it is a rather short trip, I think it is max 5 GBP or even less.
I couldn\'t find prices for now.
It would be nice to hear from you, how it was your trip. Always good to read experiences of others. Thank you!

Hi Pete,
no problem! If is so cheep ;)
Thanks!

It was my first Interrailing and also my best vacation! With my GF, we vissited Bern, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Warsaw and Prague in 17 days.
We pourchased a 7 travelling days in one month pass. In May we will have two travel lectures about our trip and also to explain how Interrailng is working...every step, buyin the ticket, planning the trip, travelling, filling the callendar.....

The only mistake we did is that we reserved all the hostel in advance so we were a little limited to travel elsewhere. But as I said, it was our first jurney.... this year we will took our tent with us to Ireland and Scotland (we hope to have nice weather).
