Hey guys!

My 4 best friends and me (hence the username) are starting our first interrail journey next week, but when I was reserving the last trains and ferries I discovered that it isn\'t as easy as we thought to travel from Norway to Amsterdam. Our last FIXATED stop in Norway is on the 20th of July in Flaam where we wanted to camp the night before coming from Oslo to Myrdal taking the Flåmsbana from there.

Our idea was to go to Stavanger and from there to Hamburg where the family of one of my friends lives, which means we would be getting a free (flexible) stay there, but I wasn\'t able to find any good connections.
The next stop is Amsterdam on 25th of July, where we already booked a hostel.

In the five days within we can be completely flexible.
Any ideas how we could fill in those days, preferably ending up in Amsterdam and maybe visit Hamburg?

Also I\'m a bit confused by the connection from Kopenhagen to Skagen: the Interrail app says we have to take the bus from Langå to Aalborg, is there a way we don\'t have to take the bus (since bus fares aren\'t included in the interrail pass)?

All of us have the Flexi Ticket, so we can travel any day.

Any help from experienced travelers would be greatly appreciated (you can also answer in german if you would like to).

Greetings,
the magic 5.

Hi magic5, welcome to railcc!

I hope you purchased your Interrail passes via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail/[/ux] to support our work, thank you! ;)

Flam to Stavanger by train is possible only via Oslo.
If you want, you can go from Flam to Bergen by train (or take the ferry and bus combination from Flam via Gudvangen to Voss and catch the train to Bergen there): [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/de/die-flambahn/[/ux]
From Bergen to Stavanger you can travel by bus; not included in Interrail: [ux]https://rail.shop/kystbussen[/ux]

Stavanger to Hamburg by train is only possible via Oslo - Göteborg - Malmö - Copenhagen; from Copenhagen you can travel on the direct route via the Rodby - Puttgarden ferry or travel "overland" via Odense - Fredericia - Padborg - Flensburg

Another option would be to take a ferry from Stavanger to Hirtshals: [ux]https://rail.shop/fjordline[/ux]
From Hirtshals you can travel via Hjorring - Frederikshavn to Skagen.

Regarding the train info on the app - always check timings on the websites of local train operators too (if possible) since schedule changes due to construction works etc are usually displayed on these websites (or their apps) only.
In this case I would assume that there are construction works taking place between Langa and Aalborg and a replacement bus service is in operation (which you can use with Interrail of course).

Since you obvisouly also speak German it would be good to know about your country of residence.
As you probably know you have only one inbound and outbound trip in your country of residence so if you were from Germany this would complicate your whole plans of crossing Germany during your trip and making an overnight stay in Hamburg.

Hamburg - Amsterdam is pretty straightforward I think; either travel via Osnabrück - Bad Bentheim using the IC coming from Berlin or travel all the way to Düsseldorf/Duisburg/Oberhausen and change to an ICE train to Amsterdam there.
