Hi All,

I'm looking to put two interests; travelling and my passion for Eastern Europe together and hope to travel there over the course of the next few months - date undecided, probably as a solo traveller and meet people when I'm out there.
I'm a novice when it comes to anything like this and I've spent the last week or so noting down places I want to go within the countries I've shortlisted.
I have a few questions/queries that need answering so feel free to chip in and help!

Firstly, I'm looking to buy a 30 day interrail pass, if I was to buy 2 or more, can I activate the other ones whenever I want. For example - if I use my first 30 day pass up, then decide to spend 5 days in a city without requiring/needing to leave or travel out of the city, can I then activate them on the day I will be leaving that particular city?

Can someone please confirm this route and tell me if it's possible via interrail trains ONLY
If anyone has any other suggestions or routes different to mine that covers Eastern European countries then feel free to comment or link me as I can't seem to find one that covers it and then moves west (closer to home - London) afterwards.

This is a draft route and will probably change depending on several factors, I just need an idea that this route is possible - not that difficult and I can enjoy my time travelling rather than running around and worrying!

Potential Route 1)

London > CZ republic (Via flight to Prague)
Prague > Brno (Taking train within CZ)
Prague > Bratislava (CZ > Slovakia)
Bratislava > Budapest (Slovakia > Hungary)
Budapest > Brasov (Hungary > Romania)
Brasov > Belgrade (Romania > Serbia)
Belgrade > Ulcinj (Serbia > Montenegro)
Ulcinj > Sardjevo (Montenegro > Croatia
Sardjevo > Zagreb (Within Croatia)
Zagreb > Ljubljana (Croatia > Slovenia) - Maybe check out Maribor (Slovenia) whilst I'm there
Ljubljana > Venice (Slovenia > Italy)
Venice > Verona > Milan (Within Italy)
Milan > Bern (Italy > Switzerland)
Bern > Paris (Switzerland > France)

This may sound very optimistic, and it is but I would like to follow something like this if possible.

Or

Route 2)
London to Frankfurt (UK to Germany)
Frankfurt to Prague
Prague > Brno (Taking train within CZ)
Prague > Bratislava (CZ > Slovakia)
Bratislava > Budapest (Slovakia > Hungary)
Budapest > Zagreb
Zagreb > Sarajevo
Sarajevo > Ulcinj
Ulcinj > Belgrade
Belgrade > Brasov
Brasov > Veliko Tarnovo (Within Bulgaria)
Veliko > Istanbul

Either then fly back to London from Istanbul

Or

Istanbul > Thessalonkiki (Turkey to Greece)
Fly back to London from Greece depending on prices etc.

Hi!

How long are you going to travel?
If you book an Interrail pass you have to enter the first day of validity. If you intend to travel more than one month you could buy two back-to-back 7 days within one month passes.
These 7+7 travel days should easily cover all longer trips.

On your route many trips will be cheaper if you just buy a ticket locally and on some you need to go by bus.

Both routes are feasible however travelling between Brasov and Ulcinj wll take its time and you will need buses to travel.from Podogorica or Bar to Ulcinj as well as onwards to Sarajevo.
