Hi there,

does anyone have any good recommendations for nice beaches around Lisbon? We are staying at Rua Pedro Nunes street. I looked up some sites and found out that there are supposed to be great beaches at Costa da Caparica and Cascais, any other beaches worth visiting? What is the cheapest and the easiest way to get to those two? Train? From where?

Thank you for your answers in advance!

Hi Klemen,

there is a suburban railway from Cais do Sodre station to Cascais running along the coast. I have been to Cascais two years ago: https://rail.cc/blog/cascais-and-the-boca-do-inferno/

The Costa da Caparica has no direct rail access; but you could use the ferries across the Tejo from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas and the travel with local transport to Caparica.

Carcavelhos is i think the nearest really good beach. And really easy to go there.

Also Praia do Guincho should be really good. Its accessible from cascais by bus.
