Hi

Please note that Dorovnik has no train station (it closed down in the early seventies), but it is only a few hours in a bus from Split where you can connect to Zagreb, or to Podgorica where you can connect to Belgrade - both routes are very scenic!

Split and Zagreb to Amsterdam are faster than Podgorica/Belgrade, but will still take close to 30 hours if going straight. Take a night train to Zagreb, spend a day there and continue in the evening with a new night train over Munich. Nice and comfortable...

Enjoy you stay in Europe

Hi Rosaura.
Kim already explained everything. :) How long do you plan to stay in Europe... as maybe a non-direct way back to Amsterdam would also be interesting. By ferry to Italy: https://rail.cc/en/ferry-connections/dubrovnik-bari/41
Then on to Milan - or some other stops in Italy.
Crossing the Alps: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/[/ux] - and from Zurich to Amsterdam...

On your route Amsterdam to Dubrovnik, simply use direct day trains. Easy and free to use with an Eurail pass Amsterdam-Berlin[ux]https://rail.cc/blog/amsterdam-berlin/[/ux] , Berlin-Prague [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/berlin-prague-train/[/ux] , Prague-Vienna.
Vienna to Dubrovnik like Kim said the short way via Zagreb (Vienna-Zagreb direct), then by night train Zagreb to Split [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/zagreb-split-night-train/[/ux]
Or my favourite would be, like also mentioned by Kim... Vienna via Budapest to Belgrade [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/budapest-belgrade-train/[/ux]
And from Belgrade to Montenegro by train [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/bar-belgrade-train-tito/[/ux]
Finally by bus to Dubrovnik... but of course, it is longer !!

Hope this helps ... and if you like the free content, please use our partner link here [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] to buy your Eurail passes. Same price for you, but direct support for us. Thank you! :)

Peter :)
