Hello,

It\'s written on the rail planner app that "Pass holders can enjoy unlimited free transport on the S-Bahn in all German cities".

As I will have the flexi pass, can I use this offer without using a travel day? Or do I have to spend a travel day to go on the S-Bahn?

Another thing, is this offer just valid for the duration of the pass or can I use it like 1 day before/after the pass?

Thank you

Hi,

no, you have to use a travel day to use S-Bahn services; these are regular trains as any other train that you can use with Interrail. Also, you cannot travel with trains outside of the validity of your pass.

S-bahn travel is typically very inexpensive, probably much less expensive than your flexi pass per day of eligibility.

A day pass for up to 5 people on a weekend (Schoneswochenender Ticket) is just e44 for ALL of Germany on all regional trains, which include S-bahn. Single trip tickets are often less than e5 for local trips.

Even cheaper, you can get a city pass in some locations. KolnCard for 5 people, 24 hours is e19. Same for Bonn. I am not familiar with other cities but I suspect it is the same.
