Hi

This is my first time on here so please bear with me... :)

My fiancee and I are looking at doing something different for our honeymoon (departing 03.09.2014 returning 12/13.09.2014) so we are wishing to:
1. Fly from Liverpool to Madrid
2. Take a train from Airport and stay in Madrid then
3. Train from Madrid to Seville
4. Train from Seville to Barcelona
5. Train from Barcelona to airport for return flight

Can we:
6. Get a EuRail pass to cover these trips?
7. Do you have a suggested itinerary or a 'to do guide' to booking the tickets?
8. Do we book the tickets here or does the EuRail pass suffice?
9. Noted someone asking about validating their EuRail and which type of rail station this could be done at...please could you explain in simple terms the way do's & don'ts of this pass? :|

Thank you so much :D

Hi.
Did you lived the past six month in the UK? If so, you have to buy an Interrail pass, NOT Eurail: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-rules
Eurail is for non-Europeans only.

For this round trip, point to point tickets booked some weeks in advance are much cheaper than a rail pass. As with a rail pass you also have to pay the reservation fees for the high-speed-trains in Spain (= + EUR 10).

Check prices at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/renfe[/ux] (pre-booking time is up to 2-3 months in advance)

Peter :)

IF you have a prebooked (selfprint) RENFE ticket for HiSpeed/AVE etc. then you get FREE local tickets for to/fro airports-or any other point in their area, but only 3 hrs BEFORE dep. or 3 hrs AFTER arrival-get these tickets at the desk. But even if bought, they are very cheap, less as 2-3 eur each. IF you plan to stay a little longer in those towns and see around, get a daypass, incl these trains too. (In MAD most use the metro-this has a speical high airportprice of 5 eur/single)
Note that august and early sept. is also prime holidaytime for the Espanoles and its gruelling HOT in the mid=Madrid and SEVilla, temp. can go up to 40 degr. cels. It also means that some trains are fully booked weeks before-not all, at less wanted times.

Thank you so much Nltrainer & Peter. Really appreciate your responses & advice. :D

Yes we are British nationals living in the UK so it's the Interail ticket for us.

I'll bite the bullet and try prebooking a RENFE ticket for HiSpeed/AVE now.
