Hi!
I am doing my first interrail trip in September and was planning on getting a One Country Pass for Croatia. I will be starting in Dubrovnik, and am planning to go to Montenegro (Kotor), Bosnia (Mostar), then travel a bit in Croatia (Makarska, Hvar Island, Split, Plitvice Lakes), then take the ferry from Split to Ancona and fly back from Rome. The trip will last about 12 days.
I was just wondering if it's worth buying the Croatia pass or if it would pay off to just book my trips as I go?

Hi Ruth,
no you won't need a pass since you will rarely travel by train, if at all.
Dubrovnik - Kotor - Mostar is possible only by bus; from Mostar it makes sense to get the bus to Split (or maybe to Makarska if possible, check locally); the train from Mostar to Ploce at the coast is suspended and runs to the border at Capljina only.
Hvar is accessible from Split by ferry; Plitvice by bus from Split, there is no sensible train connection there (the night train stops there in the middle of the night and the station is far from the entrance to the national park).
In Italy you can simply buy a ticket for the regional trains from Ancona to Rome locally at a ticket machine.
