Intercités are long distance trains in France running on the conventional lines (unlike TGV trains who also run on high speed lines) throughout the country. A variety of trains is used for these services, usually having comfortable seats in 2nd and 1st class with air-condition. Plugs are not common on these services.
Please also have a look at the "Intercités ex Teoz" train type for details on the services with compulsory reservation on the lines from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand, Limoges and Toulouse as well as from Nice via Marseille and Toulouse to Bordeaux.
