Hi all,

I am planning to make a trip from Budapest to Split in October this year.
As the direct overnight train is not running in Oct, I'm looking into the following option:

14 Oct, 14:50 - Budapest -> Zagreb
14 Oct, 23:48 - Zagreb -> Split (arrive at 06:54 in the morning)

Is there anywhere I can estimate the cost for this trip as I would like to plan the budget earlier?
If I use the Croatia - Slovenia - Hungary Pass, will this be considered as two days?

Also, as it's my first time in both countries am not sure whether train schedules change a lot....

Please help thanks :)

1.best is to buy the 2 sections: Bp (I just came back from there) to Zag-from 29 eur-book on mav-start.com-you get a long nr, with which you MUST collect the real ticket from a MAV=HU-trains machine.
2.just buy the next ticket when in Zag-or see on the site if/what they can do online-do not freak out when that is not possible, this is very, very common in east-Eur.
3.Times do not change very much in general, but its very well possible that the NIGHT train will not run at all in winterseason. Again: do not freak out, there will be plenty of buses.
NB-in general a pass that you mention is very, very unlikely to pay off. Just pay as you go or book as [1] and feel free to use bus or whatever instead.

Hi!

As already written, book separate tickets for each leg. Budapest - Zagreb is available online for 29€ at [ux]https://rail.shop/mav/[/ux], Zagreb - Split is available locally for about 26€.
The night train will run daily: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zagreb-split-b821/129

If you do a return trip, you can also buy a cheap return ticket for 80€ from Hungarian railways - buy locally in Budapest.
